P2 - Initial Ideas

We have been asked to produce a 10-15 minute script of the TV series idea I came up with in Unit 21 called Stick's and Stones. The purpose of my script is to catch the audience's attention and draw them into watching the rest of my TV series which would be a three-hour commitment. The target audience of my script will be the same as for my TV series drama, consumers between the ages of 15-21 who would prefer programs that involve social issues and more high paced viewing, I also have a second target audience of the commissioning editor for BBC 3 as this is the person who will ultimately decide if my script gets produced or not. I will have to choose some essential scenes in my TV series which will hook the audience in, my initial thoughts are to write a 10-15 minute script when the disruption happens, so when my characters find the bag of unknown drugs.

It will be a spec-script as this is better for trying to sell my idea to the commissioning editor as they do not need to know the camera directions and technical details as a shooting script will be produced after my idea has been sold. I think the set up within my TV series is the most important as my TV series is in the genre of mockumentary therefore the audience bonds closer with the characters than the plot.
