Distribution -
Due to the fact my demographic is a young age, 16-22, I will primarily use new media to distribute my music video as this will connect with my target market more effectively than old media. However I will also use some methods of old media such as broadcasting to distribute my music video to generate interest in a secondary audience, which will the expand the reach of my music video and generate my band more interest and profit.
Horus Music:
Horus Music is a company which specialises in the distribution of music videos, they offer 5 packages which all offer different levels of distribution. The most expensive package, the "Deluxe Video Package" offers to get your music video onto iTunes, Vevo and more, guaranteeing the "widest exposure for your music video".

YouTube:
YouTube is an online streaming service where creators can upload and share there videos, it is compatible on all devices which therefore means it can be accessed by a large range of audiences. Using the website www.YouGov.com I found out that Youtube is the most popular digital streaming service with over 79% of users having a positive opinion. It is also most popular with Millennials, with over 86% of millennials being active on the site and an equal ration of male to female audience which is my target market therefore using the site YouTube would be a valuable asset as I know my target audience is already active on the site. It is also popular with 82% of Generation X and 70% of Baby Boomers which means by distributing my music video on this site will reach my target audience and begin the generate a secondary audience as well.
MTV:
MTV ( Music Television ) is an American television company that specialises in broadcasting new/trending music videos on their channel, using statistic I found on the site www.YouGov.com I found out that they are the 38th most popular TV Channel and are most popular with millennials, which are my target audience, they also have a secondary audience of Generation X which I can use to build my own secondary audience for my band. MTV will also pay the production company for the rights to broadcast my music video on their channel, this means it is not only free advertising and distribution but it is profitable, for my production company.
Marketing -
To market my music video ( Build interest in the band, generate a following of the band members and music ) I will primary use new media as this targets my target market for my music video. My target market being both males and females between the ages of 16-22 who are fans of indie-rock music, therefore will be most likely to watch or be interested in my music video. I will also use some traditional media which has a following of both my target market and a secondary market to hopeful grow the following and interest of my band. I will market my music video by teasing short clips of the video itself on different social media platforms and advertising still images of my music video with a release date printed over the image on different social media platforms where videos are less supported.
BBC Radio 2:
Using the website www.YouGov.com I have found that this is the most popular radio station and is listened to by 42% of millennials with an age demographic of 49% women and 51% men. As it is a music video I am trying to market I will not play the song on the radio but will ask the radio presenters to mention my music video on broadcast. This will generate some traction and hopefully begin to generate some interest from the target audience.
FaceBook:
Using the website www.YouGov.com I have found out that FaceBook is the most popular social media network with a very wide audience composing of 58% of millennials, 58% of generation X and 51% of baby boomers having a positive opinion on the site. This means I can reach a wide range of age demographics which will target the audiences interested in the music in my music video and generate a secondary audience who may not have been interested in the music in my music video before. To market on FaceBook I will use short clips of my music video to generate interest as the videos will connect more with younger audiences and will show secondary audiences what my music video is about.

Instagram:
Using the website www.YouGov.com I have found that Instagram is the 2nd most popular social media platform and is most popular with millennials, which are my target audience. I will try to advertise on her more than other social media platforms as I know this will directly connect with my target audience. I will market on instagram using still pictures of my music video with the release date printed over the top in order to generate interest whilst still keeping a little bit of mystery around what the release date means. I will also show some behind the scenes footage of filming my music video and post it on Instagrams IGTV which will allow me to upload longer length videos than a normal instagram post.

Twitter:
Using the website www.YouGov.com I have found out that Twitter is the 3rd most popular digital media service, because of this information I will market my product on Twitter as well; Twitter's audience is compromised of 50% Millennials, 31% Generation X and 19% Baby boomers as this is such a wide audience I will have to try marketing my music video using an advert that will catch the attention of all generations and instead I will target the physiological demographic of users who are interested in new music. Therefore I will simply market my product using tweets such as "New Music Coming...", "Eyes peeled for new music", "16-01-2020" as these will connect with all generations and the demographic of people who are interested in new music and video.

My marketing will be successful as I have carefully advertised on the top 3 social platforms, this means the reach of my marketing will be as large as possible and I will reach as many people as possible. As my target audience is people between 16 and 22 then I am positive I have reached a platform where that age demographic is active, therefore my marketing will be successful.
